About Team

The Ground Software & Analytics team develops software and algorithms for monitoring, controlling, and analyzing Kuiper ground terminals and associated infrastructure.

About Role

As an Applied Scientist, you will design, prototype, and deploy algorithms for anomaly detection, antenna calibration, predictive failure models, and ground terminal performance evaluation, working closely with engineers to deploy scalable cloud applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate ambiguous problems into well-defined mathematical problems.
  • Prototype, test, and implement state-of-the-art algorithms for calibration, anomaly detection, and predictive models.
  • Run and summarize physically-accurate simulations of ground terminal functionality.
  • Collaborate with engineers to deploy performant, scalable, and maintainable applications.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in deep learning, computer vision, human-robot interaction, or algorithm implementation.
  • Experience with statistical methods and applications to business or big data problems (e.g., A/B testing, regression).
  • Master's degree or above in relevant quantitative field.
  • Experience with full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, testing, and operations.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and system design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in new hardware product development.
  • Knowledge of ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and methods including NLP (BERT, GPT-2/3), computer vision, and Seq2Seq/topic modeling.
  • Experience with cloud computing technologies.
  • Expertise in calibration, anomaly detection, and scientific/data science development.
  • Experience with remote or safety-critical systems, and simulation methods like hardware-in-the-loop or Monte Carlo.

Salary Range

$136,000 to $223,400 per year based on location
