The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) team designs satellite constellations for coverage and safety, and develops software that controls satellite maneuvers and operations.

About Role

As a GNC Software Engineer, you will develop real-time embedded software for satellites, ground-based applications for orbital prediction and collision monitoring, high-fidelity simulation tools, and supporting infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop real-time embedded software for satellites and ground applications.
• Build simulation and modeling software for satellite operations.
• Support satellite integration, testing, manufacturing, and flight operations.
• Prototype new software designs and participate in system-level analyses.

Requirements

• Experience programming in at least one modern language (Java, C++, or C#).
• 2+ years contributing to architecture and design of new/existing systems.
• 1+ years professional software development experience.
• Experience with full software development life cycle including code reviews, testing, and operations.
• Familiarity with algorithms, data structures, data modeling, and test-driven development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in embedded systems, avionics, feedback control systems, or real-time software.
• Knowledge of interdisciplinary hardware-software-algorithm co-design and verification.
• Expertise with real-time OS, embedded Linux, concurrency, scheduling, and safety-critical systems.
• Experience with sensors, actuators, vehicle electronics/avionics, or control systems.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop simulation and remote system operations.

Salary Range

$129,300 to $223,600 per year based on location
