About Scheme
The Chief Minister’s Girl Child Protection Scheme-II aims to provide financial assistance to girl children of poor families, promote education, encourage small family norms, improve child sex ratio, and discourage female infanticide.
Details
The scheme deposits ₹25,000/- in the name of each of two girl children in a family. The FD is renewed after five years, and from the 6th year, an annual incentive of ₹1,800/- is given. The total matured amount along with accrued interest is provided to the girl child on completion of 18 years, contingent on passing the 10th standard public examination.
Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria:
- Assistance is provided only for **two girl children** per family.
- Annual income of parents should not exceed **₹72,000/-**.
- One parent must have undergone **sterilization before 40 years of age**.
- Family should have only one female child currently and **no male child**, and no male child should be adopted in future.
- Parents/grandparents must be **natives of Tamil Nadu by birth or 10 years continuous residence**.
- Applicable to girl children of **Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees** residing in Tamil Nadu camps.
- Application must be submitted **before the second child completes 3 years of age**.
Benefits
Benefits under the Scheme:
- **Fixed Deposit of ₹25,000/-** for each of the two girl children.
- FD is **renewable after 5 years**.
- Annual incentive of **₹1,800/- from 6th year**.
- Total amount plus accrued interest is given when girl child **attains 18 years** and passes 10th standard public exam.
Application Process
Application Process (Online via CSCs):
Step 1: Gather required documents.
Step 2: Visit nearest **Common Service Center (CSC)** https://tnega.tn.gov.in/csclocation for biometric verification.
Step 3: Complete the application form and upload documents.
Step 4: Obtain acknowledgment receipt from CSC with date, time, and unique ID.

5️⃣ No Male Child Certificate (Extension Officer/Social Welfare Officer, Rural Welfare Officer or Taluk Office)
6️⃣ Residential Certificate (Tahsildar)
7️⃣ Community Certificate (Revenue Department)
