About Scheme

The Jeevanam Self-Employment Scheme to Dependents of Crime Victims is an initiative by the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala, to support the dependents and victims of crimes. The scheme provides financial aid to help the affected individuals or their families establish self-employment opportunities, ensuring financial stability and rehabilitation.

Details

Crimes often leave devastating effects — emotional, psychological, physical, and financial. When the breadwinner of a family is killed or severely injured, dependents are left without a means of livelihood. To address this, the Kerala Government launched this scheme, providing one-time assistance to help dependents or injured victims become self-reliant through self-employment.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant must be a **native and resident of Kerala**.
- Applicant must be either:
- The **victim who has been seriously injured in a crime**, or
- The **dependent (wife, husband, unmarried son, or daughter)** of the victim.
- The **annual family income** should not exceed ₹1,00,000/-.
- The applicant must apply **within 5 years** of the crime.
- The beneficiary must **execute an agreement** with the Department of Social Justice on ₹200 stamp paper upon selection.

Benefits

Benefits under the Scheme:
- Provides a **one-time financial assistance of ₹20,000** to eligible beneficiaries.
- Amount is **directly transferred to the applicant’s bank account**.
- Aims to promote **self-employment** and financial rehabilitation of victims or their dependents.
- Helps **restore livelihood** of families who lost their breadwinner due to crime.

Application Process

Online and Offline Application Process:

**Online:**
Step 1: Visit the **SUNEETHI – Online Service Application Portal** https://suneethi.sjd.kerala.gov.in/Citizen_Platform/suneethi/index.php .
Step 2: Click on “One Time Registration” and fill in details such as Name, Email ID, and Mobile Number.
Step 3: Verify mobile number using OTP and complete registration.
Step 4: Login via “Citizen Login” using registered mobile number and password.
Step 5: Update personal, contact, and bank details.
Step 6: Select “Jeevanam Self-Employment Scheme to Dependents of Crime Victims” and click **Apply Now**.
Step 7: Fill in the application form, upload documents, and submit.

**Offline:**
Applicants may also contact the **Department of Social Justice, Kerala**, for physical submission where online access is limited.
