About Scheme

The primary objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from poor families to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies. Scholarships are awarded based on Higher Secondary/Class 12th Board Examination results. A maximum of 82,000 fresh scholarships per annum are provided for Graduate/Postgraduate degrees and professional courses.

Scholarships cover Graduate/ Postgraduate degrees in colleges and universities and professional courses such as Medical, Engineering etc. Rate of scholarship varies by level and duration, with direct benefit transfer to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

Eligibility

The applicant must be above the 80th percentile in Class 12th, pursuing regular degree courses at recognized colleges, with a gross parental/family income not exceeding ₹4,50,000 per annum. Renewal requires minimum 50% marks and 75% attendance. Aadhaar seeded bank account required.

Benefits

Graduation: ₹12,000 per annum (1st-3rd year); Post-graduation: ₹20,000 per annum; Professional courses (4th-5th year): ₹20,000 per annum. Disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Online: Apply through National Scholarships Portal (NSP): https://scholarships.gov.in/ with One Time Registration (OTR). Follow steps for registration, Aadhaar e-KYC, application form submission, and final submission. Track payment status via PFMS.

Fresh: 12th Mark Sheet, Family Income Certificate, Category/Caste Certificate, Disability Certificate (if applicable). Renewal: Previous Year Mark Sheet.
