About Scheme
Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) aims to provide pucca houses with basic amenities to houseless households and those living in kutcha/dilapidated houses in rural India, contributing to the goal of Housing for All.
Details
Beneficiaries are identified using SECC 2011 data and verified by Gram Sabhas. Financial assistance is transferred directly to Aadhaar-linked bank or post office accounts. PMAY-G also converges with schemes like Swachh Bharat Mission, MGNREGA, and Ujjwala Yojana to provide toilets, employment, and LPG connections. The scheme provides a minimum house size of 25 sq. m, including a hygienic cooking area.

Eligibility
Houseless households or those living in zero, one, or two-room kutcha houses as per SECC 2011 data. Automatic inclusion for destitute, manual scavengers, primitive tribal groups, and legally released bonded laborers. Prioritization based on deprivation scores and social categories (SC/ST, Minorities, Others).
Benefits
Financial assistance: ₹1,20,000 per unit for plain areas; ₹1,30,000 for hilly, difficult, and IAP districts. Institutional loan up to ₹70,000 at 3% lower interest rate (max principal ₹2,00,000). Additional support through Swachh Bharat Mission, MGNREGA employment, LPG connection via Ujjwala Yojana, and convergence with other development programs.
Application Process
Online: Visit PMAY-G official portal https://pmayg.dord.gov.in/netiayHome/home.aspx, log in, provide personal details, Aadhaar, bank account info, upload consent form and required documents, select loan option if applicable, provide convergence details (MGNREGA, SBM), submit form. Beneficiary registration verified by concerned office and Gram Sabha. Beneficiaries can track application online.
