About Scheme

Launched on 15 August 2018, the scheme provides ₹5 lakh insurance coverage to all farmers aged 18-60 years, ensuring financial security for their families in case of the farmer's death, irrespective of the cause. The state government pays the premium to LIC on behalf of farmers.

Details

Compensation of ₹5 lakh is paid to the nominee within 10 days of the farmer's death. The scheme is fully funded by the Government of Telangana and implemented by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).

Eligibility

Resident farmer of Telangana aged between 18 and 60 years.

Application Process

Offline: Farmers do not need to apply. Nominee should approach the Department of Agriculture or LIC with required documents after the farmer's death.

Death Certificate of the farmer, Nominee's identity proof, Proof of Nomination (if applicable), Farmer's Aadhaar or other ID, any additional documents required by LIC/Department of Agriculture.
