The scheme offers monetary relief for accidental or natural death, as well as graded compensation for permanent disablements such as loss of hand, leg, eye, hearing, or fingers. Eligibility includes unorganised workers aged 18-60, operating commercial vehicles for livelihood. Exclusions include cases caused by self-inflicted injuries, intoxication, riots, or racing. Applications are processed online via the eDistrict 2.0 portal, with documentation including proof of age, identity, employment, and relevant certificates for death or disability claims.

Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant aged between 18-60 years at the time of enrolment.
- Must be an unorganized worker in operation of commercial vehicles: cars, taxis, luxury taxis, LCVs, vans, auto-rickshaws, tempos, lorries, trucks, or buses.
- Vehicle must be used for commercial purposes.
- Nominee/dependent eligible in case of death.
- Death or permanent disablement due to self-injury, suicide, insanity, immorality, intoxication, drugs or narcotics.
- Injuries resulting from riots, civil commotions, or racing.
Benefits
Benefits:
- Accidental death: ₹1,50,000/-
- Natural death: ₹50,000/-
- Loss of one hand, one leg below the knee, one eye, or hearing in one ear: ₹25,000/-
- Loss of a thumb: ₹9,000/-
- Loss of any other finger: ₹4,000/-
- Maximum relief for total disablement: ₹50,000/-
Application Process
Application Process (Online):
Step 1: Visit “eDistrict 2.0” portal https://edistrict.wb.gov.in/portal/home . Click Log In/Sign Up.
Step 2: Click “Register” and fill details, enter username, click Register.
Step 3: Enter OTP from mobile to complete registration.
Step 4: Login with Username/email and OTP.
Step 5: On Dashboard, select the scheme and apply.
